Bill and Cathy McArthur Summer/Fall 2004: 4

The last weekend in June, we had visits from our granddaughters Erin and Bridget and our friend Shannon White from Cape Coral, Florida. Phil and Alex came with the kids on Thursday evening when we all enjoyed pizza from Louie's in Cape May which Cathy brought home with her from work. On Friday morning, Alex and Phil left to drive to Philadelphia airport and to fly to Boston for a couple of nights. We took the girls into Cape May to play miniature golf and to visit the bookstore where Cathy works. The girls chose a few books to be purchased at the bookstore. Then we went to one of the arcades for a couple of games and a couple of coin operated kiddy-rides. We headed back home for lunch and put Bridget down for a nap. Later, we drove with the kids to Atlantic City Airport to pickup Shannon. We stopped for dinner at the East Bay Crab & Grille on Cardiff Circle and had a good meal. Bridget learned to dip her food in her water cup which kept her occupied for almost the entire dinner. On Saturday morning, we drove Shannon to the Cape May/Lewes Ferry so she could attend a wedding reception in Rehoboth Beach, DE and spend the night. After seeing Shannon off, we let the kids play in the playground and play miniature golf on the ferry terminal grounds. After Bridget's nap, we took the girls to the Wildwood Boardwalk and bought them tickets for several amusement rides. We ate dinner at home after the fun. On Sunday morning, we and the girls went down to our beach and played in the sand and water and flew Erin's kite. After lunch, Bill picked up Shannon from the ferry. Alex and Phil arrived back during mid-afternoon. They took the girls back to Wildwood while we and Shannon drove into Cape May for one of Bill's patented tours, drinks at the Brown Room in Congress Hall, and dinner at the Pelican Club. On Monday morning, Alex and Phil and family left for home and we drove Shannon to the Atlantic City airport. Pretty effective use of time, eh? We really enjoyed the company. As a bonus, the weather was fabulous!
