Bill and Cathy McArthur Summer/Fall 2004: 8

Mid-August was filled with tropical weather bringing heat, humidity, and lots of rain. Luckily for us, the remnants of Hurricane Charley moved by us without causing any problems. We found a clear day and drove to Atlantic City to walk the boardwalk (the whole boardwalk - 10 miles). We hadn't been in Atlantic City for several months and found a lot of changes. The most visible change was the multitude of casino beach bars that have been added since our last visit. We found the Athens Olympics to be a good antidote to the bad weather. Bill has finally found time to complete some projects that he has wanted to do for a long time. He put photo essays from our 1990 trips to Greece and Norway on the Internet and added them to the Random Thoughts website. Bill ran his first race in over a year by competing (slowly) in the Coombs/Douglass Memorial Bay Run of 5 miles. Cathy kept busy working at G.E.D. testing at Techical High School and the bookstore in Cape May.
